Fresh seafood is something to be savoured, and something to be treated with the utmost respect - that’s our ethos here at Oak Bay Seafood.
All of the fresh fish and seafood available from our counters has been sourced from sustainable options, all prepared to the highest standards based on over four decades of experience and knowledge.
We’re also committed to finding new and innovative ways of using the high-quality catch that is available to us, and nothing demonstrates this better than our wide range of smoked fish.
Sustainable Seafood

We have smoked octopus, a real artisanal treat that also reflects the best sustainable practices. As Octopus is often a bycatch of prawn fishing, their numbers are tracked and it can only be caught during a 6 week period.
This is how fishing should work, responsible management that feeds into an amazing product for customers to take home.
We also offer smoked tuna bellies cut from Albacore tuna that is caught in a warm water current, usually far offshore. Albacore are troll caught, so sustainably fished and are quite small so any mercury concentration is much lower than in the larger long lived species of tuna.
While the highly prized loins are sold to restaurants, we keep the bellies for smoking to create this unique delicacy.
