Sablefish Portion


Also known as “black cod” or “butterfish”, sablefish are silky rich and full of omega 3 fats. A very flavourful fish with a buttery texture, it is a premium fish that is increasing in popularity.

Sablefish have a creamy white flesh and black skin, and due to their high fat content are easy to cook without drying it out. You can easily grill, roast, or poach them for a decadent meal.

A traditional Chinese method is to steam the fish and serve with soy sauce. Slice some green onions, ginger, and cilantro. Mix together some with light soy sauce, sugar, and hot water. Steam the sablefish for 7-10 minutes, depending on the thickness. Meanwhile sauté ginger and oil then add half the green onions and cilantro. Add soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Pour over the cooked fish and top with remaining green onions and cilantro. Enjoy!
