Coho salmon, also known as “silver salmon” is a classic salmon. It’s not the biggest or the smallest, nor the fattiest or leanest, but is a mild fish that is low in saturated fat and an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and potassium.
A whole coho salmon is a great base for many flavours, as the fish itself is fairly mild. Bbq or roast it whole for a great presentation.
You can also slice the whole fish to get beautiful salmon steaks. Make sure you cut them thick enough to ensure it won’t fall apart when handled. Then simply brush with salt, pepper, oil, and lemon juice and grill a few minutes on each side until cooked through. Enjoy!
